Website Communications Co-Director
Overview
This Co-Director assists in managing club information and internet communications to the club via the website’s textual content, administration of the applications, and electronic mail. It is a key role affecting the orderly functioning of the club, requiring a dedicated person with attention to detail and awareness of all club activities. You will work in close contact with the club’s current Website Communications Director, who will be your trainer, technical resource and co-director. It would be normal to gradually ease into this role as you gain familiarity with our website content and club processes.
Requirements and Skills

Windows Office Skills and Writing Skills
HTML – Hypertext Markup Language (or ability to learn)
Simple VBScript comprehension (or willingness to learn)
Variable effort required, typically 2-4 hours/week
Responsibilities
Generate bulk email and monitor deliverability
Upload documents to the Buff server (e.g. board minutes, Buffer, email attachments)
Monitor the club’s email inbox daily and respond to or forward incoming messages
Update the text on web pages and publish them to our server (ex. Dinner page, home page, etc.)
Monitor incoming electronic payments (i.e. PayPal) and confirm successful posting to our database
Administer the website’s “Member Services” applications, trip registrations, and calendar
Join the club’s Board of Directors and attend monthly board meetings
Not Included
Proficiency with website programming languages (e.g. Vbscript, Javascript, SQL) is helpful but not required for this role. Over time you could assume WebMaster responsibility for the club’s website platform and programming if your skills, interests, and availability allow, but this is not an expectation.
