J.R. Jackson’s articles have been featured in Fly Fisherman, The Drake, and Hallowed Waters. He resides in Albany, New York, and considers the Catskills and Adirondacks to be his home waters. He also enjoys fishing the saltwater surf from Maine to the Bahamas, and ties flies that consistently catch fish throughout that range. An Ohio native and University of Cincinnati graduate, J.R. spent his formative fly fishing years as an active member of BUFF, and is looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones at the 2026 show!
