Otter Creek Bamboo Rods Video: "The Otter Creek Experience"

Since retiring, Jerry kicked his love of fly fishing into high gear, teaching fly tying classes in local fly fishing shops and converting the basement of his home into a first rate bamboo rod making shop. Over the past 24 years, Jerry has produced over 200 fly rods and developed self-taught skills and methods in rod building, machining, and finishing. He is constantly tinkering in the shop, improving the operations and experimenting with new methods. His rods compare with the best. Jerry has contributed rod building learnings to rod enthusiast journals and forums and is well known in the rod building fraternity. Jerry’s teaching skills are very apparent, as is his encouragement and enthusiasm for the hobby. These days Jerry’s focus is on classes and custom rod building and repairs. He says visitors are always welcome to tour the shop, test rods, or simply “hang out and drink bad coffee!”.
