October 15,  2003 B.U.F.F. BOD Meeting

Present: Fischer, D. Jones, Mackey, Hogue, Kennard, LeBlond, Howell, Shirley, Panfalone, Prince, Bryant.

 · 2004 calendar meeting will be Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. – Mike Bryant’s house.

 · New Logo – Ed Jones to talk with Clauserman regarding the logo design. Anyone else interested in helping, contact Don Prince.

 · Future Leaders discussion will be next month

 · FFF Ohio Council Meeting is Saturday, October 18^th.  Mike will be submitting the petition.   The press release is to wait until the petition goes through.

· Flag Pole – Goldsberry recommended to Kennard that B.U.F.F buy a flag stand and he will donate the flag.  Motion was made by Jon Kennard and seconded by Jim LeBlond to buy a flag stand for $250. Motion passed. 

· Electronic Buffer – Dave Jones reported 30 members from September meeting bringing total to 33.  Also reminder for monthly dinners to take one plate only. 

· Speakers: November – Glen/Wayne from Glen River Fly Co. will demonstrate fly tying. 

· Mike Bryant motioned for the purchase of a gooseneck lamp, clamp-on style to be used for fly tying classes – a cost of $100.00 or less, seconded by Dave Jones, motion passed. Lou Hanes agreed to buy and store the lamp. 

· Joe Panfalone requested a laptop for speaker presentations during programs.  Mike Bryant asked him to put together a  proposal but possibly wait until after the Banquet. 

· Don Hogue gave the Treasure’s Report – see attached.  Dave Jones moved, Joe Panfalone seconded and motion to approve treasurer’s report passed. 

· Patti Howell reported the Banquet will be February 28 and it will be a live auction, again with Russel Arey.  Cost is still $25. for early bird or $30 a month before banquet.  Sign-up sheets will be available at dinner meetings and in the December BUFF.  Patti has leaders set up to handle the Banquet.  The next planning meeting is Nov. 16^th. 

· Mike Bryant suggested an exploration of information that the FFF has available that might be useful for good resources.  Web address is fedflyfishers.org. 

· Outreach: Patti Howell reported Debbie Hampton has not been able to find a place for the next Casting for Recovery retreat. 

· Jon Kennard reminded everyone that the deadline for BUFFER is October 23^rd.

· Lou Haynes said the Fly Fishing Show will be February 14^th.  The advertising will be in three different publications: Country Angler, a Troy Newsletter, Dec/Jan; SW Ohio Newsletter, Williamsburg, Jan/Feb; KY Outdoor Newsletter, Jan/Feb.  Total cost $700.  A discussion followed re: other possibilities.
