Buff Board Meeting Notes – November 17, 1999

Members present: 
Bob Jones, Don Prince, Louise Goldsberry, Bob Goldsberry, Ed Jones, Tom Jones, Joe Panfalone, Tony Kalbli, Jim LeBlond, Jane Cook.

Membership - 176 members.

Treasurers Report - see attached, we are in decent shape financially.

Buffer - no report.

Web Site - Joe is working on updating, we are getting around 40 hits per day. There is currently a form on the site to get our newsletter mailed electronically to people. Joe would like input to make the site more attractive and informative, please direct comments to Joe. We need to send around a form to get e-mail addresses on members.

Conservation - 

• we did stream monitoring of the East Fork, extremely high scores. 
• The next conservation raffle will be a "split the pot" raffle. 
• The new Ohio trout regulations are out, the size limits are larger, creel limits smaller.

Education - conservation award mailings have gone out to department heads at 4 universities, the deadline is Jan 15. (U.C., Xavier, Mt. St. Joe, Miami U. )

GLC-FFF - no report

Programs - 

• Dennis Potter - total bill is $300.00. Joe moved, Don seconded to pick up the entire bill, motion passed. Dennis would be a good addition to sport show.
• Lou moved, Joe seconded to spend $100.00 on Bruce Wankle (Jan). Motion passed.
• Tony recommended that we have a tying session prior to the sportshow so we can offer flies as prizes for new members. Ed moved, Bob seconded to purchase 24 boxes to be filled for that purpose, motion carried. 
• The December meeting will be a booking agent, Scott Ruprect, talking about trips. 

Trips - last local trip of the year is Dec. 11 to the Clear Fork, see Bob G. for details.

Bob Hart Show - Jan 6 will be the training, location to be announced.

Other - Ed Jones moved, Bob Goldsberry seconded that business arrangements or commitments between Buff and commercial enterprises may be obligated only after approval by the board of directors. Motion passed.

Raffles - the cost of the Rod/Reel package is going from $40 to $90.

Meeting Site - Tony will chair a committee to search alternative meeting sites and report back.

Board Nominations - Jim will pursue a few additional people, elections in December.
