Buff Board Meeting 3-15-00
Members present -
Steve Groom, Eric Scarpa, Bob Jones, Bill Fischer, Joe Guenther, Dave Eucoter,
Joe Panfalone, Bob Goldsberry, Louise Goldsberry, Ed Jones, Don Prince, Jim
LeBlond, Jane Cook.
Membership -
Don reported membership is up to 227 members, 34 are family, 5 are life,
there are 193 Buffer subscriptions with 8 being complimentary.
Treasurers Report -
- Profit on the dinner was $2527.55. Publicity seemed to have helped a great
deal.
- Joe moved, Don seconded, to nail down the Holiday Inn Eastgate for next
year. Motion passed. The date will be February 24, 2001.
- Joe moved, Ed seconded to approve the ability of the treasurer to move
funds into Certificates of Deposit for the betterment of the organization.
Motion passed.
Web Site -
- Joe will put information about our public service, education, donations
and conservation onto the web site.
- It was brought up that we need more stream info on the site.
Conservation -
- Bob reported on scale sampling.
- April 15 is Eastfork cleanup day, we will be doing some cooking in 3
locations. Bob requested that we front the Buff group $50.00 in case of
emergencies, Don moved, Steve seconded, Motion carried.
- Bob will coordinate this effort. Saturday March 18 is stream quality
monitoring, meet at 10 A.M. at Hardees.
- Steve reported on the Mad River, we need to talk up the new regulations
and get more folks interested. Steve will be writing an article for the
Buffer.
Education -
- Bob Curry will be helping on waterfest at UC. Ed will continue to work on
it.
GLC/FFF - no report.
Programs -
- April will be Roy Matthews - a lifetime behind the long rod
- Bob has a number of ideas for future programs.
Trips - Joe has some ideas for a mother/son/father/daughter kind of a
day trip, if you need a kid we will provide one.
Mentoring Program -
The club wishes to stay away from issues of commercialism, Jim will talk to
Bob Grey about the issues with his holding these classes at his shop and finding
a neutral site.
Misc. - Louise moved, Don seconded to send a honey baked ham to Bob
Clouser as a gesture of appreciation. Motion passed.
Meeting adjourned, we then toured to park and facility.
